Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has admitted he faces a huge struggle to keep hold of the Republic of Ireland ace if they are relegated and both Villa and Everton are keeping tabs on his situation.

McCarthy's men are battling for their lives and have a good chance of staying in the top flight after they drew 2-2 with Villa on Saturday while both Hull and Burnley both lost.

Just one point separates the pair as the relegation battle continues and with a gap opening up to Wigan in 15th place, the loser here is going to have some ground to make up in a bid to get towards safety.

Mick McCarthy's hailed his battlers on Saturday after a 2-2 draw at Aston Villa, a performance he labelled "terrific".

You see, according to Opta, Wolves have the worst shooting accuracy in the top flight, with just 37 per cent of their shots finding the target.

This is also probably why Mick McCarthy's men are the least prolific team in the Premier League, netting just 23 goals - that's less than a third of Arsenal's 71!
