MICK McCarthy is in no doubt that Thierry Henry's blatant handball against Ireland in Paris has ushered forth an irresistible need for technology to be used in football matches. The former Irish captain, who was capped 57 times, appeared at a World Cup as both player and manager and presided over a play-off triumph against Iran, remains angered by the manner of the French winner. WAYNE Hennessey insists his inability to keep clean sheets this season is not weighing on his mind. Indeed, the 22-year-old has praised his back four for their performances during the first third of the season. The Welsh goalkeeper has let in 22 league goals in 12 games and kept just one shut-out, at Wigan.

Hennessey has been brilliant. He’s 22 and a fabulous goalkeeper   -Mick McCarthy

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has admitted he would take a 'Hand of Henry' winner at Chelsea. The manager is still seething about France's play-off winner in Paris that denied the Republic of Ireland a place in the World Cup finals after Thierry Henry handballed.
